First of all, are we talking copper PIPE or soft copper tubing? If it is pipe, you are way better off using a 90 degree elbow. Forget bending! If it is soft copper tubing, just bend gently, maybe using a soup can or something for a mandrel to bend around.

With 1/4 copper, Just bend the pipe.... If you in a tight area with no room for just bending, Use a 90 degree coupling.

Jennthack is a dopey kid. It may work with glass but if you paid attention in chemistry you'd know that copper is a metal and it won't work.

Buy a 1/4" 90 degree elbow and sweat it in with solder, flux and a torch.

You need a tube bender to do it. It looks like a spring about 12'' long. In fact inf you have a spring just a little bigger than the copper tube you could probably bend it.

If you need something to flow through it later, ( like water ) bend it with a pipe bender or else it will kink. If you are just doing it for art or decoration, then stand on it and bend it with your hands or do it in a vise. (copper is soft)

Blow torch or bunsen burner hold the area that you want to bend over the flame and then when its hot enough bend it quickly and set somewhere to cool....we did this with glass tubes in chemistry class!!
