Internet Explorer is not only the Windows default web browser it is also the backbone for Ms Windows navigation. Firstly; I suggest using Mozilla Firefox for web browsing as it is more secure than Internet Explorer (for web browsing)
http://www.mozilla.org

Secondly, download some decent anti spyware tools, but BE CAREFUL, many tools are actually spyware deguised as solutions. Below are a couple I can personally recommend, so Google for them.
"Adaware"
"Spybot Search and Destroy"

Thirdly, you need antivirus software if you have non installed. Google for "AVG Free", which is, as the name suggests a free antivirus tool which I recommend.

Finally, you need a firewall if you don't have one. Try "Zone Alarm", its also free.

Good Luck!

If you see iexplorer running when you have no browser open, then you have caught something. Update your antivirus and antispyware software and run it. Gotta firewall? Wake up!

Dude....careful. Don't cause errors to explorer, cause then you won't have it at all and you'll have to download it.
