I think a person is gay because they where supposed to be born the oppisite gender, like a gay guy was really supposed to be born a girl and that explains why he has the same likings of women, and vice versa for lesbians. It just makes more sense doesn't it? Not the christian theory that a person was turned gay and can therfore turn back. Or the homophobic theory that gayness is a disease. Or even the Republican theory that a person is gay by choice.

I don't want to be a woman, it all depends on the enviorment you grow up in.

Nope, people born in the wrong physical gender are TRANSGENDERS.
I was born female, I enjoy being female, I'm sure my son's quite grateful I'm female. I don't have "likings" of men. I don't wear flannel (except for on especially cold nights and that's only my PJ's), I don't wear work boots or dress especially masculine.
It's not a disease, the APA REMOVED homosexuality and all other sexualities from their lexicon of disorders because THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT!
I certainly did NOT choose to be hated, discriminated against, denied my equal access to civil and human rights. I did not ask for ignorant jerks to harass me or anyone else who's gay/lesbian/bisexual or transgender.
NO ONE CHOOSES THIS!
I'm a bisexual woman, who predominantly leans lesbian, but who is VERY happy being a woman!
So, sorry to hear that reality is a concept that simply doesn't cross your minuscule mind.

No, it has nothing to do with that. Most homosexuals report that they wouldn't want to be the opposite sex; likewise, most transvestites are comprised of heterosexual men.
Recent studies have proved that homosexuality exists in nature, reportedly among bees, birds, and penguins. Other studies among homosexual men have found that the hippothalamic region of the brain were smaller than those in heterosexual men. This area of the brain is responsible for autonomic activity, as well as strongly linked to emotion centers and sexual drives in the limbic system.
They think that it more often mimics that of a woman, but the entire structure, chemical output, and hormonal balances of gay men were entirely masculine. Conversely, there are no studies of lesbianism in either regard--in nature, or in the human brain-- that I know of, so I believe that it's moer of an emotional decision. There were Kinsey studies, however, that women who were reportedly lesbian did indicate that they would consider intimacy with men, and that sexual fantasies involving men were in their thoughts.

Read the Kinsey report. Some guys are born het, some guys are born wanting to be fem. There are allot of shades of gray. Honestly, I chose to be gay and am proud of the choice. I think that people that say gay is not a choice should read about pavlov's dogs and allot of women that dont want to lose their husbands to a guy should read more of Dr Laura.

Kudos mate!
But what I think you're neglecting here is the fact that not everything in life is as simple as X and Y. Too long we as homosexuals have searched for some type of defining factor of our natural existence. It goes to show how much the discrimination has internalized within us, and just how far we still have to go. Ever hear of Stockholmes Syndrome??
We're not SUPPOSED to be anything but what we are. Why even question that?

Transsexuals are born with brains of the opposite gender. Gays are born gay but do not act or feel like women. Life is far more complicated than the religious bigots like to admit.

Uh, I'm in a life partnership with a woman, and between us we don't own flannel, and I own exactly one pair of jeans and I only wear them when its too fricken cold to wear stockings and a skirt. We both do our hair(and neither of use have it shaved, spiked or in a mullet. We both wear makeup and good perfume. I do not like anything even related to a male oriented activity, especially sports, and my favorite thing in the world to do is shop. We are both mom's and grandmom''s and love to decorate our homes, spend time with the kids, and entertain our friends by cooking dinner. I have a closet full of mini skirts, stiletto's and an over abundance of pink. I don't smoke, drink or spit. I love women but because they look, think, smell and feel like women, and that's why they like me. I'm busty and I don't strap them down for anyone. She's a ballerina. I collect cookbook.
Why don't you try stereotyping me and see what it does to your theory.

One part of the of the brain is more feminine in gay men than straight men, but another part is more masculine in gay men than in straight men. Gay men are supposed to be born gay men.
P.S. (to last answer) Christianity is a sinful lifestyle, but I forgive you, even though you're a sinner.

Interesting theory. I dont know if I can fully back it, but I really like it. Hmmm... Always nice to hear some ideas other than the turned, disease, and choice ones.

No! Being gay and lesbian is a sinful way of life, I'm sorry but it's in the Bible and the reason Soddom and Gammorah was destroyed! I know people who became gay in later years and then gave it up.

No, because not all men were meant to be with women and vise versa. There are different genes that cause the gender of someone, and the sexual orientation of someone.
