Does having timeouts improve the game of basketball from the spectators point of view?

Athletes are smart and should determine the outcome.....not coaches changing things up.....the better the athlete the better their ability to read the situation and adjust accordingly......the last five minute of any basketball game are like watching paint dry.

Yes, basketball is a very fast pace game, and timeouts can be used to help the game in many ways.
1. Timeouts give players rest. So the best players will not have to be subed out everytime.
2. If one team is on a role, the losing team can call a timeout to stop the other teams momentum and regroup.
3. Timeouts allow for better and more interesting plays, and for the audience to be prepared for the final seconds. In nonstop game, even if the scores are very close it would not be as interesting for the players or the audience. Since it's very hard for players to come up with a quick play with the clock ticking and defence pressuring.

Time outs are for coaches to design strategy for scoring and defense also for the players to catch a breath. Also time outs can be a momentum stopper if your getting your teeth kicked in. And your definitely wrong when you say the better the athlete the better his ability to read a situation. You must also add in ego and arrogance(see Kobe) if you don't really know the game you miss out on the subtleties.

Yes I rather see a coach call a timeout 2 make a smart move---- than not calling a timeout and making a dumb move ---anytime!

i know but yeah time outs give them time to take breather i know its boreing but it has to be donr if that makes sense. would you like to ruen around playing your heart out for 2 hours no brake. just lettin u know
