This can be caused by external biological factors such as bacteria, viruses and parasistes which can be transmitted through bites, inhalation, ingestion, absorption or through breaks in the skin or other epithelia. There are also poisons, nutritional deficiencies, inherited genetic diseases. spontaneous genetic diseases eg cancer and occasionaly muscular dystrophy (mutation in early embryogenesis)

There are many ways: airborn, waterborne, transmitted by insects, etc. the thing that infect us, be it water, air, mosquito, etc are called vector. Vector can be anything that introduce pathogens into ur body in such a fashion that they can utilize u for energy for growth and development and/or reproduction.
