Integers are whole numbers and negative whole numbers. So 4, 2, 42, and 3847 are integers, and 3847.5 is not. And so on.

So you need to decide what number represents a "loss" of 12 marbles.

An integer is any number that doesn't have a decimal or fraction following it. It can be positive, negative, or neither (0 is the only number/integer that is neither positive nor negative).

In your question, there is obviously the integer of 1 for the one game. However, I think the question is asking not about the game so much as the marbles. Since he LOST 12 marbles, you will need a negative number. In this case, you will need -12.

Integers are whole positive numbers like 1,2,3,4

Negative whole numbers, -1,-2, -3 etc

And zero.

So in your question, "1" game and "12" marbles are the integers suggested.
