We want to go somewhere overnight, that we don't have to drive too far to get there. We keep going back to Niagara Falls, so something else would be nice. Don't really want to go the Adirondacks, as I will be travelling there the next day for a business trip. We spend many weekends at the family home is Canandaigua, so that is also out of the question. We're struggling to come up with something, but are open to ideas. I really do not want to stay at a B&B. They are just not for us. We are willing to drive up to 3 hours to get somewhere. Help Please! Thanks!

My fiance and I live in Rochester and have the same issues, as we try to take a driveable trip every year on New Year's. We did Toronto two years ago and loved it - so that would be my recommendation! Only a little over 3 hours and worth the drive. Plus you pass an Ikea on the way there and back, and that's always a great stop! :)

How about Burlington, Vermont or Montreal? You would have a lot of fun in either of these places.

Why not a romantic dinner at home? Lite candles, soft music?
