What happened to the singer, Phil Collins?

Question

He had a popular album every year in the 1980's, and now you never hear about him. What's up with him now?

Not much apparently. Tarzan is out on Broadway now and that's a huge success since Phil wrote the songs. During the summer he gave some performances, like on the Today Show . Phil and Orianne decided to separate in March. Phil's son Simon released his second album earlier this year. Not much else. He probably is making music, just not that we know of.

I heard that he has lost a lot his hearing do to all the loud music he was subject to from performing all of those years. Now he has kind of retired and kicked back. Phil Collins is a great performer I don't think there is an instrument he can't play and left handed too, like Paul McCartney

You mean besides leaving Genesis for a massive solo career and then making millions turning out pleasing pop tunes?

He's done a number of projects for Disney, making soundtracks and movie related songs for projects like Tarzan and Brother Bear. The pop biz seems to have passed him by, but he still manages to drop a tune on the adult contemporary charts from time to time. But look for him to continue to focus on the film work, which doesn't require constant touring or the emotional roller coaster of having your music promoted to radio...while still taking home a pretty damned good paycheck.

Unfortunately, he's still alive. Like Elton John he tends to just write music for pointless Disney/Pixar movies now. Churn 'em out, get paid, buy houses.
