what is an axle hook? how long should i make the string? wshere should i place the mousetrap on the body of the car? how do you make a speed car vs. a distance car? any other helpful tips who knows nothing about cars (mousetrap cars or regular cars)!!!

as a highschool junior you are supposed to build a mousetrap car for a science class... the mousetrap lever is attached to a string that is tied around the axle and somehow makes it go... I just dont understand some of it... by the way... if you dont have anything to help me out, please just dont answer the question... it is a waste of my time to read things that say something like "what is a mousetrap car?"... see my point?

Use CD discs front and rear. If you want a smaller front wheel use those mini discs. You can buy axle/hub adapters on the 'net' Very few hobby shops will have them but might be able to order for you. The fishing line simply wraps around the rear axle.

I think somebody is having fun kidding you---there is no such thing as an axle hook---what string??----what is a speed car and what is a distance car-----what is a mousetrap car? is that another way of calling a car small??
