You didn't do anything wrong.
Your first step was submitting applications.
Second step is to follow up on them.
Call in, tell them your name, let them know you're doing a follow up on your application and see if you can schedule an interview!
Best of luck! =)

You do not just make one stab at it. You keep applying for jobs. Not only that but you send in your application and then you call them up and ask them if they received it and tell them you are looking foreward to an interview and when would be a good time to schedule one. There is an old saying. The squeeky wheel gets the greece. It works.

You need to call them, this shows you're interested.
I would pick the top jobs you want and call those first. Then go down the list, calling as many as possible.
Let them know you turned in an app,and you would like to schedule an appointment for an interview.
Good luck,and don't give up.

It's too soon to worry, what was the closing date? Wait a while after the closing date then maybe you'll get a call. Most job adverts would tell you that if you dont hear from them by a certain date, then you should consider your application unsuccessful. But 2 wks is way too soon!

alot of things could be wrong. such as- did you fill out the application fully and correctly without spelling errors? were you dressed appropriately for a possible on the spot interview? did you go alone or with friends? are you qualified for the job? is you writing legible? did you ask for too much money? think these over before you TURN in any more applications. good luck.

Have you tried putting your resume up on Monster? Linked in is also very good as you use your work social network to get new jobs. Also - sometimes it takes more than a couple of weeks for companies to get back to you.

Before you TRUNED them in,did you check your spelling? If I look over an application and I see a lot of mis-spellings and/or mistakes I toss it aside. :(
