i have checked it for everything, but there is nothing hidden or ... within the folder. i have even renamed and moved the folder, but nothing changed. other folders are working properly.( i am using wix xp sp2). you think what the problem is???

"900 files in 70 folders" IS a big deal, specially if you're using thumbnail view and most of them are multimedia files (pictures, songs, videos).

The reason, only reason I can tell, for the folder to take awhile to open is because it does have 900 files in 70 folders. Its just taking awhile to open because its big.

As for knowing what this folder is, I haven't the slightest. I've done a search on my computer to see if I have it since I am also using Windows XP SP2 and couldn't find it. It may be related to something you have installed on your computer. My advice would be to just leave it be incase it is related to something you have installed. Because if you delete it and its being used with something you have installed, then that program may not work correctly anymore.

I hope this helps...=)

where are the files/folders located?

It could be a legitimate system folder, it's hard to tell because you didn't say where the folder is located, etc.

Another hypothesis is that a hacker could have uploaded some files and named the folder soft for software and tried to conceal it.
