I don't get this idea... No it can't be discrimination it's the law...So if the law decides that blacks can't drink that is discrimination? And for the guy talking about kids We are talking about legal adults here! Just because the government makes a law does not make the law fair...Women and blacks used to not be allowed to vote I guess you people think that wasn't discrimination because it was the law?

At 18 you're old enough to choose a President, to be put on trial as an adult and to sign up to be sent overseas to perhaps die for your country, but you're not old enough to decide if you should have a drink?

Hell, yeah it's discrimination!!

It's perpetuated though because young people don't have enough money or political power to change it.

The government and the legal system defines what discrimination can be sued for in court.

There is legal and illegal discrimination.

I can fire someone for having red hair, that is legal, I can't sue them for being black.

So yes it is discrimination, but it is legal since the governemnt has defined it as such

is telling a 10, 11, and 12 year old they are too young to drive discrimination? Duh, it is a law and would only be discrimination if they say only female, male, minority, or something of that nature can't drink - but all the others can.

hey it also differs from country to country - so if you really have to drink - MOVE

I remember the last time I was refused service in a pub - I was 14 years old. I do think this is one time wen the law really doesn't relate to reality.

No. It's like telling a five year old he can't drive a car.
