Actually, cholesterol comes from your diet. Exercise may or may not have an effect to your cholesterol. If you're eating pizza and burgers all the time, exercise won't help you much. Changing your diet is what you really need to do. You don't just loose it when you're jogging.

And if you're talking about fat, the general rule of thumb is 1-2 lbs/week. Or you can Google HIIT to help burn more.
