Did she contribute a lot to the class and school? Way back when I was in High School the nominated princesses were based on contributions to the school (clubs, sports, student government) rather than looks or popularity.

Yeah, I agree with missgiggles, some people just CLAIM to be good, chaste, virgins,etc. anyways. Then they prove themselves in private, or through anonymous post. But shy can win, sure. I was in the court, but a girl asked ME! lol

Was based on popularity in my school. Lucky a gothic type of gal won instead of a snotty preppie gal. It was a revolution at the time.
