Correctomundo on Billy Joel. I believe you're referring to 'My Life', from the CD 'Glass Houses'. Could be wrong there, but not all educated guesses are intelligent. The only lyrics that spring to my mind right now -- "Anyway, it's okay, you wake up with yourself.". Not exactly a huge help there, but it's a start.
Piece of trivia -- The song was the theme for a popular ABC sitcom "Bosom Buddies", which starred a then up and coming Tom Hanks. Amazing the junk stored in one's memory.
