Yes.
If you get a pos pregnancy test you are pregnant - there is pretty much no chance you can't be. Pregnancy tests look for a certain hormone which only occurs when you are pregnant.

I presume you mean can you get a false negative result yep you can....... there are 2 "windows" on a preg test. one will show the result and the other is there to show the test is working correctly. The test detects a hormone that is present in the urine of pregnant women BUT only present in early stages of pregnancy....so......... if it is later on in pregnancy then the hormone (which is HCG -human chorionic gonadotrophin) will not be there so you would get a false negative result. If you get a positive and the other window shows the test is working correctly then there is HCG in your urine and that means....start knitting

Yes, there is a slight chance of a false negative reading if the test is done too soon (though a very small chance I might add) However, it is possible to get a false positive too, if you have been taking certain hormone tablets, such as those used in IVF I believe.

Yes - a pregnancy test test's for a hormone that is only present in women when they are pregnamt. Therefore it can be wrong because its been done too earily and there is not enough of the hormone present.

Actually, not quite. You can get a false reading either way. That's why the instructions say to follow up with your doctor. There are certain rare hormonal conditions that could cause a false positive

There is a bigger chance of a negative test being wrong, but with a positive test its almost definatly right, lol. The doctor told me this when he told me I was pregnant coz I was sure he was wrong, but it turned out he was right lol

yes, you can get a false negative but never a false positive, because the test picks up HCG in your urine that says your body is pregnant. But a false negative can be because it is too early for the test to detect HCG in your urine.

I don't believe that. Both neg. and pos. results can be wrong but chance are not on your side.

it's true that a false positive is highly unlikely unless of course you're on some meds that contain the HCG. in which case, you'd definitely know.
