It sure does! Melaleuca Alternifolia Oil (Tea Tree Oil) is not the same as heavy, pore clogging oils and is also a natural solvent.
The products of overactive oil glands in the skin can dry and harden, forming blackheads. This may produce a local bacterial infection and pimples. Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia) is a natural anti-bacterial, antiseptic, kills staph, streph, e.coli, viruses, candida among other things. Acne primarily affects adolescents and can occur on almost any part of the body. Outbreaks usually appear on the face, chest, and upper back. Acne is also common to those working in hostile chemical environments, people suffering from hormand imbalances or those under physical and/or emotional stress. Other factors can include use of oil-based cosmetics, some Rx drugs, heredity, and changes in the hormonal balance of those entering puberty or that are pregnant.
Washing the affected area at least twice daily won't in itself prevent acne, but it may help to reduce or limit the spreading nature of most outbreaks.
Be aware of any food allergies and experiment with elimination diets or get tested by your doctor if your case is particularly severe. Minimize your sugar intake, drink LOTS of water and reduce dietary fats to no more than 20% of your total caloric intake. Exercising/perspiring for 20 minutes daily helps to cleanse the body of toxins. (you may use a sauna or steam bath if not able to exercise).
Zap-It,. a whole acne control regimine is available from www.Melaleuca.com and my family has had great success using the facial wash, astringent Pore clarifying cream and the
Zap-It Quick Stick. You can also apply the Tea Tree oil to any developing pustule. Use the oil to clear the plugged pores. Use a good moisturizer afterward to keep moisture in the skin and resist oil stimulation. Avoid dry brush or friction rubs with alcohol as this naturally stimulates oil production.
Be sure to get enough rest.
