I really don't feel "teenager" enough. I'm 13 and don't feel like a teenager. I just feel numb, like I could care less. I just wear a lot of black. Any tips to be a "normal" teenager?

buy some brighter colors and try to be more outgoing and outspoken. besides, being a teenager does involve not caring a lot but doesn't involve wearing a lot of black. bright colors make everything better! =]

First tip? Try to figure out what the heck normal is. Truth is, you'll never be able to figure it out because normal isn't really normal. It's different for everybody.

Also, You just became a teenager. You still have another seven years to be a teenager, so don't stress out about it.

Also, you don't really have to care. The stereotypical teenagers shown in movies and TV shows are just that; stereotypical. Not every teenage girl is obsessed with fashion and makeup or has huge boobs and tiny miniskirts.

In fact, I'm 15 years old and I have never been any of those things.

Just do your own thing and forget about all the things you think being a teenager is about. You are a teenager, so just be yourself and you'll be fine. =]

well your just becoming a teenager so dont be so hard on yourself there is no exact way to be normal I mean what is NORMAL and im an adult listen baby be yourself but just start acting a litlle more mature you are a becoming a young adult as far as black when someone keeps wearing black theyre hiding something find colors that compliment your hair or eyes and skin tone that will bring you to the light a little without over doing it and remember keep being you and there is no definition for normal just dont do anything CRAZY

I went through the same thing even though I started feeling like a teenager at the age of fifteen anyway I think that you should start wearing brighter colors and start experimenting with new hair stylesand make up, get a boyfriend, and if your school has it you should start trying out for cheerleading.

Relax, I wore a lot of black, didn't feel anything, etc. By the time you reach 15 you'll look back and know all the answers to that. But if you'd like to change you can, dark and gothic is a type of normal nowdays. Like running shoes? BLUE jeans?
How about some colors you are not afraid to admit cheer you up? You care, or you wouldn't have asked.

In deep thought, nobody can really define normal. If your peers can't accept that you don't understand what normal is, then find people who do. Excitement of being a "teenager" doesn't come to most children coming of age, and the apathy is probably you just not giving a darn about it all.

Don't worry about it too much now and just go and enjoy life as best you can.

Meh. Who wants to be a normal teenager?

And for God's sake.... do NOT just go out and buy pastel shirts and try to fit in. If you try out for cheerleading, it'll be a sad day for individuality.

If you want to feel carefree and whatever, if that's your conception of teenager-y, take up a hobby like rock climbing or something. Just find something you think is fun.

Hey hun adolescence is nothing to shout about; most of the time is spent feeling indifferent and many people actually get depressed. I don't think any teenager truly feels 'normal'; I certainly didn't! Don't try to change who you are just to be whatever's considered 'normal'; you really need to work on getting comfortable with yourself; you'll only ever regret putting on an act to please people.

There is no right way to be a teenager. Just have fun and be you. If you feel like you being you than thats all there is to it. No teenager is perfect.

Turning 13 doesn't magically change who you are or how you feel overnight. Things ARE changing, just slower than you expected. Wear black if you like it, don't worry about feeling 'numb' because numb is better than all those crazy roller-coaster emotions!
