I love my job and the money's amazing but I'm not happy where I am and am craving fresh start. All my friends live in London and there's nothing to hold me back other than my career.

Downside of leaving: you will be a smaller fish in that pond; it will take some effort to feel quite as Big as you perhaps do now in your job. And working in London can sometimes suck the big wazoo - depending mainly on where you live and where you work.
Upside: for the career-minded, London is an astonishingly fertile place to plant yourself.
Other upside: all the things you said. "Craving a fresh start" is probably the biggest of the lot.

Take a week off and visit London, use the tubes during rush hour and I am sure it will put you off!!! There are good sides and bad sides to being in London, but only you can decide if it is the place for you, I would definitely suggest coming to stay here, even a week would give you a good idea if you could live here. Personally, I wish I had never moved here!!!

MissB Surely if your in a good job as you say would it not be better if you visited your friend a few times and get the lay of the land first, see if you can get a job before you pack your good job in. I know it sounds great move to London the big city ,but are you suited to the big city? Honestly visit a few times first get the lay of the land then decide, but whatever you do it must be your decision and yours alone, I hope you make the right one, good luck in whatever you decide.

I did that 38 years ago i felt homesick and miserable all i ever wanted was to live near the theatres of London and work there never the same when you get there i to left a good job,but i soon went home again try it if you must but i would say don't do it.

A friend of mine quit her job to move to London, she's now been out of work for over a year. she's got experience and qualifications, but there just aren't the right kind of jobs, depending what you do for a living will depend on how easy it is to get a job, you won't find anything in retial unless you have about 3 years management experience or you can drive.

Depends what your prospects are where you are and how easy it would be to get another job in London. Let me know if your serious and what you do! Could have a job! About to move myself and will be taking on new staff.

london is the city of opportunity. jobs come and go, but good friends are hard to find. pack in the job, pack up, and head south.. good luck mate.
p.s. can you put me up for a night or two when you get there?!!

Look for a similar job before coming here. Go onto www.monsterjobs.co.uk or www.reed.co.uk
If you see that there is nothing in your field, stay where you are, if there's loads, come down here, it's as easy as that!
