yes, it is normal for you to bleed when you first get pregnant. this is implantation bleeding... your baby is imbedding into the blood rich walls of your uterus, causing them to bleed some. from what I understand, this blood can be really light, like pink and only be there slightly for a day or so, or it can be heavier. some women even think they are starting their period at this point and don't find out they are pregnant until the next month. if you know for sure you are pregnant, you should talk to your doctor about it to be sure, but it's pretty normal. about one in three women have it I believe.

it's common but it is hard to tell the difference between a normal light bleed and spotting - you should always get bleeding checked out at the docs or go to the A + E

hope i can help. am a sexual health nurse. if you are in the early stages of pregnancy you can have an 'implantation bleed' when your body is altering ready to continue pregnancy. if you are less than 12 wks and bleeding for more than a few hours then seek medical attention to check all is ok. is the blood bright red or brownish? if in doubt in any way seek medical advice. you may need a scan and further tests to put your mind at rest.

Yes, some women can even have their period throughout their pregnancy. You should get it checked making sure that nothing is wrong, but as long as the baby is alright the doctor will just tell you that it can happen and just to keep and eye on it and alert him at once if it get heavier or different.
