If you are not involved in police work you really would have no reason to be wearing a bulletproof vest. If you have purchased a bulletproof vest, and are wearing if because you are scared of getting shot, you either need to move out of where you are living or improve your life and get yourself away from people who may have a reason to be shooting at you. Most police officers would probably silently laugh at you, although you may be taken in for questioning because of all the unrest in the world. Have a good day!

There's nothing illegal about wearing a bullet proof vest. They'd take down your information, question the heck out of you, and probably search the heck out of your vehicle. But if all you were doing was wearing a bullet proof vest, they'd have to let you go.

Wearing a bulletproof vest is not illegal, but there will be questions as to why you're wearing it. Just reply that you don't feel safe around your area.

You can wear a bullet "proof" vest where legal. Check your local laws. Understand that bullet "proof" is a relative term like water "proof" for watches. ;)

some states have laws against citizens having bullet proof vests, in those states, it would be illegal, in others it is merely a form of self protection

Why would you get arrested? Don't some hunters use bullet proof vests?

It would probably raise suspicion and they would likely search you/interrogate you. As long as you haven't done anything wrong and act normally, I think it would be funny.
Cops are militant idiots most of the time that need to get an ego boost.

You'd have a lot of explaining to do. In US they may just take you in and question you until you confess to something stupid. In Canada - they'd just tell you your STUPID.
