I class myself as English - born in England to parents who were also born in England as were all theirs before them. However it is very difficult for anyone to say they are truly 100% English because the number of times this country was invaded pre 12th Century. There would have been a degree of fraternisation between invaders and natives which over the centuries would lead to dissemination of the gene pool.

Very..and Swiss by naturalisation!
I am the best customer in Switzerland for white mature cheddar cheese and I do not mind the windy, rainy weather, in fact I miss it as there is hardly ever wind here, except in the mountains!
Are you British at all?

Pretty much, born here Dad born here, his dad born here, his dad born here, his dad born here, not just Britain but this Vilage. My family moved from two villages away about 150 years ago and from the other side of the Severn, same County, about 100 years before that, so I reckon I am pretty much British.

As British as you can get, I guess. Born British of British parents going back God knows how long!
But to be British you only have to hold a British passport in reality. So maybe I just hijacked a plane, landed here and got given one! (Along with all the benefits, coucil house etc)
Being British doesn't really count for much nowadays, does it?!
