You're likely to find everything you want by searching "Michigan" and/or "Detroit" in Wikipedia or Google.
Southeast Michigan is by far the most populated part of the state. The principal city is Detroit, which is one of the largest cities in America. Detroit's main suburbs include Dearborn, Warren, Troy, Livonia, Romulus, and Farmington Hills. Major outlying cities include Flint (a declining industrial city made famous by Michael Moore's film "Roger and Me"), Ann Arbor (home of the University of Michigan), Port Huron, and Monroe. The region is mostly flat, and is natively a mixed forest. Since settlement it has been heavily farmed and in modern times is mostly industrial. The land rises gradually from the shorelines of Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair. It is somewhat hillier in the northern and western parts of the region. Lake St. Clair and the St. Clair River separate southeast Michigan from the province of Ontario in Canada.
