I've heard the v6 and the automatic transmissions are trouble. How about the manual 4 liters any words of wisdom?

depends on what kinda shape its in who owned it and how they took care of it , now days cars will last you forever if properly maintained, just check it over or take it to a mechanic before you ever sign anything. I recently bought an 02 sebring for my wife, awesome car, looked great no problems, but a month later the engine locked up from a failed bearing, thank god for warranties

No I think it would be a good deal if it's in good shape. Normally you can't go wrong with a Honda...As long as it hasn't been beat to death. That sounds strange I'm sure but here are some things to consider. Is the interior in good shape, is the body in good shape, and do they have any service records? If someone takes care of a car most of the time they do so inside and out or physically and mechanically. Another thing to ask is if it's had the timing belt replaced, and if so when was it done. Ask to see any service documents they have. Here's two websites that will help you. Kelly blue book (www.kbb.com) is a car pricing guide that auto dealers and banks use to determine the value of a car. Carfax (www.carfax.com) is a website that shows any insurance claims made against a vehicle. It will show if it's been wrecked as long as they made an insurance claim. Kelly blue book is free but carfax charges a fee and you need the VIN(vehicle identification number) to run a carfax. Hope this will help you out.

Go to www.kbb.com and look up the blue book value of the car. I have a 1997 honda accord and it has 300,000 miles on it a 4 liter engine and the only thing I do is change the oil and the timing belt every 100,000 miles. Its the best car I ever owned.

That is actually a really good deal for it being a Honda Accord EX although the miles are a bit above average, the 4 cylinder/manual Accord's are very reliable and trouble free cars.

That's not a bad price if the car is in good condition. The manual transmissions are kinda rare and I wish I had waited to find one. It's a great car, and at 129k miles it's still got at least another 100k to go (as long as you maintain it)

Nope its a deal as long as theres no huge problem with it. My accord is at 233,000 miles and runs silky smooth and doesnt burn a drop of oil. Hondas are #1, 129,000 miles is just starting out for that engine.

The manual time will be almost identical to the auto time. Autos shift quicker, but are harder to launch. The tranny will make much much less of a difference than the driver in this case.
