Trivial to figure out if you have a calculator.

When I did it in my head, I did it this way:

10% of 35 is 3.5
80% will be 8 * 10% and 8 is 2 * 4
2 * 3.5 is 7 and 4 * 7 = 28
Sanity check: 80% is close to 100%
so the result (28) better be close to 35

The brain can go through all that in a split second, but takes much longer to type out and explain.

You should be able to do simple calculations like this when you are out shopping and see things marked as being on sale
(20% off, or whatever).
