I'm not religious, but I used to be & I used to love Christmas. I stopped celebrating Christmas 11 years ago when my mother died. My lover ususally travels out of state to see his mother, but this year he's going at Thanksgiving instead & I know he wants to decorate, etc. Please don't tell me to get my faith back. That won't happen. I just want to try to get "into" the holiday for him.

I like to listen to Christmas music, like a Johnny Mathis Christmas album, the Carpenters' Christmas album, and Reba McIntyre's Christmas album (I especially love "The Christmas Guest") -- read the lyrics here: http://www.willoughbyontheweb.com/christmas/story_christmas_guest.htm

It's also good, sometimes, to watch Christmas movies, such as "It's A Wonderful Life"

Baking cookies also helps, sometimes.

Hire a X-mas decorator and cough up a few bucks and stand back and smile... no muss no fuss
