This happened to my relationship, but it was the other way around. She was making bad decisions, and I was paying for them. ( She has gotten better, since) But when I was considering breaking up with her, I thought about all the stuff I had given her during our time together, But didnt really want it back. I gave it to her because, I wanted her to have it, and it pleased her, so It's hers, no matter what. Its water under the bridge, anyway. the money is already spent. I dont know if Your guy will feel the same way, tho...

NO!! this will cause very great pain since when u give a gift u feel the other person appreciated the gift. just politely tell him that u have ended the relashionship IF he asks otherwise just stay quiet and aside. BUT PLZ DONT GIVE BACK ANYTHIN ONCE THAT PERSON HAS GIVEN IT TO U.
IT FEELS like HELL :( and u feel regecteda and below ur level.

Sure ...give it back with dignity. He gave it under a loving kind pretense. If it is over for you, then break the ties by closing that chapter. You can move on and so can he.

yes (but not to the point of you should). it'll make it clear that you don't want a second/bonus round. keep it if you want to give him hope. return it if you want to burn the bridge and just be friends. plus it doesn't make you look materialistic. hope you resolve your situation.
