How do they choose an east and west sec team for the sec championship? Does it basically go by the AP Poll?

The team with the best record in the east plays against the team with the best record in the west. It has nothing to do with the BCS standings. The winner gets the bowl bid for being conference champs.

no i dont think they go by the AP poll..
i think they go by record... or confrence record..
the best team from the west and the best team from the east
face off to see who wins in the SEC title game..
that should be a good game this year

No. It is decided by record against conference opponents.
