If your looking for an online game, RuneScape and World of Warcraft have been the best MMORPGs. I recently quit RuneScape because it was getting in the way of school, but overall its a good game. World of Warcraft I'm not sure of but they have good reviews.
If you need one for a console Final Fantasy 10 would be good, the new Zelda game is gonna be a blast, and Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door was awesome =D

Dungeons and Dragons Online! It's got a GREAT community of gamers, and the game itself is fun for anyone familiar with the D&D paper and pencil version.
