I am an ashamed Floyd-head. I believe that all of the songs on Works came from other albums. I've tracked down all of the songs except for one- Embryo. It sounds like Roger singing, or maybe early Syd. It is very soft and soothing and talks about how it must feel to be an embryo-

I'm so new compared to you
and I am very small...
always need a little more room
waiting here seems like years
never seen the light of day...
All around I hear strange sounds...
red glow light and darkened night...

Interesting song overall. Anyway, I would love to know what album this was on originally. Thanks!

Dark Side of the Moon? I KNOW it's not on there.

1. Speak to Me/Breathe
2. On the Run
3. Time
4. Great Gig in the Sky
5. Money
6. Us and Them
7. Any Colour You Like
8. Brain Damage
9. Eclipse

You aren't fooling me! I've been listening to them for years! Are you maybe thinking Eclipse?

All that you (verb)

That's what most of the song is.

It was put on the Pink Floyd compilation album Picnic.
It was supposed to be on Ummagumma, but Pink Floyd
were not satisfied with the recording. Embyro can also
be found on Works as well. It was originally to be put
on Ummagumma, but the first place it was on Picnic.
Picnic was withdrawn from the label's catalogue, because
the track was put on the album without the band's approval.
I guess Picnic would be a collector's item for this reason.

After The Final Cut Capitol Records released the compilation Works, which made the 1970 Waters track "Embryo" available for the first time on a Pink Floyd album, although the track had been released on the 1970 VA compilation Picnic - A Breath of Fresh Air on the Harvest Records label.[44] The band members then went their separate ways and spent time working on individual projects.

Embryo was recorded i 1969 for 'Ummagumma', but Pink Floyd were not satisfied with the recording. In 1970 EMI got Norman Smith to make a mix of the song anyway - and without accept from the band 'Embryo' were suddenly released on the compilation album 'Picnic'. The album was withdrawn, but later the same version of 'Embryo' were released on 'Works'.
