Take if from your heart & the experiences you have with the person. I spent 3 days trying to write something for a friend of mine who I had known for 14 years. I ended up just getting up there & speaking from the heart & it came out fine.

Start with something you liked about the person and how they made a (positive) difference in your life. Be sensitive and straightfoward. And if you have nothing nice to say, leave it unsaid.
