I used to have a high paying corporate type career. I worked 60+ hours a week. I was stressed out and never had time for myself, family or friends. Not to mention vacations. Then I decided that doing what I love was more important than making money so I am a lot happier with my life now. I work 30 hours a week 181 days a year and spend more time on travel and my home and personal relationships, and the great outdoors. Do what makes you happy going to work every (or most) days.

Most ppl don't get to say, "I want to do this for a living". Rather, most live and will work with what is available. Even the career types are working for a career that was available.
Some are entrepreneurs who have a passion that overflows and creates itself. This sounds like what you're searching for. However, most entrepreneur’s experience the day- to - day / month - to - month average job. It's in this lifeless state where they can dream of the talents they have and how to use them better.
In short, just do anything until you start to feel the passion.

What are your interests? Do you like math? computers? the outdoors? Try to find a career path which will make you happy beyond a paycheck. I was a mail carrier for almost 20 years. I love the outdoors & dogs, and the people on my route. I broke my ankle so had to go out on disability. I wouldn't recommend the PO anymore because of their corporate politics now. They've changed.

I am a District Sales Manager for a Newspaper company, I work anywhere from 2 to 12 hours a day, depending on the day. But I am on call 24/7, so I have to pick up and go at any giving time. Not much fun, no time for family and friends, but it pays well

Find something that you are passionate about and you will never be bored or unhappy with your job. Find your passion and pursue it no matter what others think. Good luck and God bless

Become a guidance counselor or career adviser. Sometimes helping other people figure things out helps you decide. You could try it out with your friends. Ask what they want to do and help them decide if they have the talents, interest, or opportunity to do so. While you do that you may find out a bit about yourself or just get some new ideas.
