We usually buy our tickets in March or so and usually on ebay. We attempted to buy the tickets directly from Indianapolis Motor Speedway(IMS) one year, but were EXTREMELY disappointed, as there aren't alot of good seats left from them.

If you have never been to IMS, just know that there is really not ANY place where you will see the entire track. Maybe the tickets that go for $1000s, which I assume you won't be buying :).

We like sections A , B and the Paddock and also Gasoline Alley and Tower Terrace which are located behind the pits.

We usually spend around $200 for 2 tickets. Our hotel accommodations are the most expensive (around $190/night with a minimum stay of 3 nights).

Enjoy the race!!

There is a price range depending on where you sit. ($40-$150 on race day, price does not include parking.) The best place to buy them is from the official Indy 500 website. Go down to the middle of the page and there is a link for event tickets. There is also a link showing you track in case you don't know which tickets would sit you where.
