They are supposed to dress modestly . Meaning the men cannot wear too tight clothing and they should be loose fitting and the women are supposed to wear the veil and not wear tight fitting clothes either. Although there are many muslims who do not dress this way meaning there are alot of women that dont wear the veil because it's hard for them to be different in a society that doesn't like seeing people that don't dress like everyone else. For example i'm a muslim lady and i do not wear the veil because it is hard for me to just start wearing something that i've never worn before, though i am really looking to wear it soon because i dont feel worthy of calling myself a muslim without wearing it.

Like Dania A wrote, they are supposed to dress modestly, but about the exact way of dressing there are different opinions.
As far as I know most Muslims think that women should dress a way that only her face and hands remain visible, but there are also Muslims who think her face should not be visible and others who think that she can also show her hair. The Quran is not very precise on this issue and so there are different interpretations.
I had a Muslim friend from Egypt who studied in Germany (where I live), and when she was here it was very important to her to cover her hair although she had some problems with it that people made remarks or gave her strange looks. She also said that if women cover their face it is due to their local traditions and not according to Islam.
For rest of the dress there are many Muslim women who dress mostly in a way like Western women, but a way that they cover their legs and arms (e.g. long pants and blouse with long sleeves) and with a headscarf in addition. This is very common among Muslim women in Germany and also in Egypt as I have seen there when I visted my friend there.
In Iran and Saudi Arabia it is obligatory for women to wear a black chador.
The strictest dress for women is the burqa in Afghanistan which was obligatory under Taliban rule and is still used by many women there.
When Muslim women pray or when they go to pilgrimage to Mecca they have to dress a way that only their hands and face are visible and they wear something wide.
For men there are also different opinions, some dress in traditional way of their country and others dress in Western way.
