For a gift? Go to a craft store and look at the kits that are available. Most of the kits are made for children or teens but you will be able to get a good idea of what this person might be interested in trying,then you can buy an instruction booklet and some supplies. If this person already has an interest then a gift card to a craft store would be Sooooo welcome.

Male or female? Knitting, crochet, watercolor painting, beading, model kits, woodworking. Go to your local craft store and look around, there is lots to choose from.

All depends what interests her, try Calligraphy, improves your writing, quite inexpensive on the whole.
