Looked bigger sooner with the 2nd (and huge with the 3rd!) and more tired - but then didn't have another child to look after then! Felt more sick with the 1st. And the pubic bones started to separate with the 1st so that was lots of fun! Still painful with the other pregnancies, but I was better prepared. I drank far more water with the 2nd as I fell quite ill with a kidney infection with the 1st so I was not going to encourage that again! And I experienced piles for the first time too with no1. 1st pregnancy was very much wanted but a big surprise that I fell pregnant a month after getting married so I had never really felt broody. But I was VERY broody in wanting to try for no 2 so emotionally I suppose the 2nd pregnancy was different in that respect.
However different all the pregnanices were- being pregnant with all my children will be the times of my life I will never ever forget. The most amazing thing I could do and looking at them now my heart is just bursting with love and pride and no matter what I had to go through, they were all worth it.

My second pregnancy was much easier (no pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, nor the need for bedrest). One thing I did have with the second, which I did not experience with the first, was sciatic nerve pain.
My labor, on the other hand, was much worse the second time around (fast and furious!). There was almost no time for the epidural. (Yikes!) My baby was also in distress, and when she started to emerge, she had the cord wrapped around her neck three times. After my Dr. cut her free and she was born, I thought she was dead because she didn't cry (whereas my son cried right away). She's fine, though.
BOTH of my babies had whatever condition that is when they poopie before they're born (cannot remember what it's called -- it's been a while!)
You can't really predict what your second pregnancy will be like based on your first. My only advice to you would be to get to the hospital ASAP when you feel the first twinge (second babies usually come much more quickly), and demand the epidural as soon as you get there!
Good luck!

Hi,
Mother of two children from DEVON.i found the second pregnancy a bit more relaxing, you are much more aware of body chnages and emontional ups and downs that those hormones bring. It depends how your first birth experince was..i had a bit of a awkward experince..and found the second time a lot easier..pregnancy and birth are miricles in themselfs..enjoy.The only difference with a second pregnacy is that i could not just lie down during the day, because i had a toddler to look afer too,and my partner worked a lot..so i would be in bed by 7:30pm some evenings..yes that early,i did not feel sick..just tired.
I hope i have been some help to you,it is all postive..do not worry!
Janine.

i agree with everyone else.. Every pregnancy is so different. With my first it took much longer until i needed maternity clothes- with this second pregnancy i was showing much much sooner. My morning sickness wasn't as bad with this pregnancy. After the first pregnancy you know more what to expect.. so you, at least i did, feel the baby moving sooner which is a cool thing =) Because I already have a daughter from my first pregnancy (she's 6) and just changes in life- i'm much more busier and i don't have time to sit around reading magazines geared towards first time moms etc etc... it's a little more 'realistic' .. i also don't find myself freaking out over every little thing-- because i did that with the first pregnancy. this one is much much easier and it just seems to flow more with life... way too many people get caught up in thinking that pregnancy is some crazy medical condition and they have to put their lives on hoid for 9 months... anyways i'm done rambling haha. Good Luck =)

I found i was a lot more tired because you cannot relax when you want because you are running after the first child. The nice thing is the pregnancy seems to go alot faster because you are not completely thinking about it all the time because you are busy with the first baby

I have a 16 year gap with my two children and they were completely different I dont know if its because they are different sexes or if it was because I was a lot younger and fitter when I had my first but I definately found the first pregnancy to be a lot better as with the labour

Scary! Everything is new to you in your first but you know what you've got coming in the second, also no-one told me how scary labour was,how mean!Just had my third baby and things do get a bit routine but no pregnancy is the same so you always get a surprise somewhere along the line!

The second pregnancy was alot easier then the first, but I think that was because the second time around I was working full time, so I didn't have time to sit around and focous on my symptons like with my first.
