I completely agree. There's actually more evidence to support creastion as a theory than evolution, but since creation is taken from the Bible, it's considered religion and therefor not allowed to be mandated. That good old separation of church and state. Although, I bet that's not what the founding fathers had in mind, and the problem is the Bible, in and of itself, has nothing to do with religion. That's a cultural phenomena.

Creation theory is a load of b*llocks, that most Christians admit was purely a moralistic way of beginning the bible. It simply does not add up, if God made Adam & Eve, who made the people of the Land of Nod, where Cain got married? Why don't we all have the same DNA? How come men & women have the same number of ribs?
Just because Genesis is a parable, not fact, does not mean that Judaism & Christianity are wrong (although, I personally have no belief in them), it just reminds us that even the prophets were human.
Maintaining such stupid notions as Creation Theory only devalues your Christianity, makes you look stupid and inflexible.
Should your school also teach Isaac Asimov, Jules Verne & HG Wells as fact? Of course not.

I feel that religion does not belong in school. That said, I feel that if it is presented as just one of many theories, then perhaps it would be ok. The problem arises when you get a Christian teacher who puts a little more emphasis on the creationism part and neglects the others.

Religion should not be taught in public schools.
Learning about religon and religious debates in a social studies class is fine. In fact, letting kids know what the debates are and showing them the various sides is a great idea in my opinion. Also, kids should learn about most major world religions in a social studies class.

Oh, but you can. There are plenty of private and homeschooling options that can provide you with just such an educational opportunity.
