something from the heart is always the best gift one can recieve, especially kids, toys are toys but showing kindness and love and being there is something they wont forget... but in order to specifically pinpoint some good ideas, can you specify who the gift is for, and I can help you a little better... For my husbands mom this year I am making her a grandma's brag book filled with all her grandchildrens pictures and momentos. If its a teen a journal would be a good gift, because they like to write poems and their thoughts down. If its a baby you could make them a blanket, my mother in law made my daughter a blanket for christmas when she was a baby and she really treasured this, she still loves it and is now four years old... if you want email me and I can help give you some good ideas.. mistystone82@hotmail.com

An ice cream maker

Or perhaps a lawn game like croket or Bocce ball.

A basket with a couple dvds, popcorn, and candy
Or that's another idea. Those popcorn makers that they make up for the holidays ( with a dvd)

Lots of love, understanding and big hugs. Material things.. if you feel you have to wrap something, make it something personal, something they need or you know they want. If they have everything they need but you still want to give them something special, how about a pampering day at a spa?

I don't know what your budget is or their situation but I always appreciate personal gifts that mean something rather than some expensive junk I have no use for.

If you have the money a digital camcorder would be good. It involves the whole family and they can all sit around together and watch. If you don't have the money maybe a board game is something they can all do together.

This is a hard question. Gifts are hard to buy. You need to get some hints on what they like. I know, not much help...
