The North Korean nuclear program was started during Bush 1. They made enough plutonium for maybe 3 bombs. Clinton brokered a deal to lock up that plutonium. So NO plutonium was made during Clinton's Administration. Now with Bush 2 they have enough material for up to 13 bombs. So tell me again how it is Clinton's fault? And remember the Rumsfeld was on the Board of the company that sold them the 2 reactors.

Great question. Up until Monday 10/9, Clinton was the problem in North Korea (Rice, McCain, etc.). Since then, no Republican leader has mentioned his North Korea policy in a derogatory manner.

You have to give it to the Republicans, right or wrong, they stay on message.

The Republicans have been talking about the situation for 5 YEARS following President Bush's "Axis of Evil" speech. (You have to watch Meet the Press, and every Pentagon press-conference... it just wasn't front page news)

It is coming to the FOREFRONT of the NEWS because the Democrat's up for election are SCREAMING that the Nuclear Test by the DPRK is a result of Bush's stance on not engaging in Bi-Lateral talks with the DPRK. And claiming that NO plutonium was produced during Clinton's reign (unsupportable fact).

Bush started 6-party talks with China, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Russian, and the USA to try to come to a diplomatic resolution to the issue of the DPRK's missile and nuclear programs. North Korea REFUSES to talk... they want concessions BEFORE they will talk... they want their bribes like Clinton gave them... and then they will renege again !

Clinton bribed the DPRK with wheat and oil... the DPRK kept working on their project in secret... then walked out of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty when we caught them smuggling missiles into Yemen / Iraq prior to Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Influence peddling has always been and issue and problem with both sides. It just does not get much press unless it is an election year.

Just remember, the definition of an honest politician is a politician that once bought, stays bought.

What do you mean "now" ?
Clinton allowed the N.Koreans to go nuclear..
It was only when the liberals & dems started trying to
blame Bush, as usual, the it became necessary to remind
them of the truth of the matter...
It is not usually a "blame game" with conservatives...

Ive been talking about it ever since he gave that madman two nuclear reactors.

Clinton only tried to appease NK, never to confront it. the clintons had a soft spot in their hearts for communists.

Democrats are the schizophrenic party of weakness and appeasement. They call their own troops nazis (murtha) and call the terrorists freedom fighters (rangel). God help us if the dems smear their way into power in a time of war.

Maybe were bringing it up because it is a pertinent issue and it's election time. Why are liberals pounding the foley story to death when it really has nothing to do with the well being of this country.
