A gazebo is usually a round structure in a garden that has a roof and can be slightly raised off the ground. Some are small and will seat two or three. Larger ones will hold a table and 4 chairs. Even larger ones like you might see in a "town square" or park setting will hold many more people.

A gazebo is a free standing, normally round or octigon shaped room, sometimes screened in, with an roof. It can be used as a shelter for a hot tub or a dining area

It's an outdoor canopy. It can be a permanent structure made, say of wood with plants growing round it, or a temporary one made of canvas for instance.
It offers shade and protection from inclement weather.
