i suppose the volume of the valve of the engine where the fur strokes (charging stroke , compression stroke ,working stroke ,exhaust stroke ) are worked out...

greater the volume of the work...more the efficiency of the bike...

c.c. denotes cubic capacity. may be expressed in cubic centimetres or cubic inches or litres(for larger engines). S.I. standard is cubic centimetres but i think Americans still use inches and litres. it is an indication of the cylinder area available for a charge ( fuel air mixture) of the engine per cycle of operation. as an example normally aspirated 1.4 litre petrol engine with single overhead cam valve system will produce approximately 75 HP even when produced by different manufacturers in the world ( can be upped by supercharging and aggressive fuel mapping etc at the expense of efficiency).
air required for combustion is drawn by the down ward motion of piston during suction stroke.(suct. v/v open, exh. v/v closed).
in case of old two stroke bikes air entered the crankcase on upward motion of piston and got compressed by the piston and pushed into combustion chamber near the end of downward stroke.

The capacity of the engine in c.c (cubic centimetres = millilitres) is the total volume of all of the cylinders in the engine.

Generally the larger the cc value, the more powerful the engine as they can ignite more fuel per engine cycle.

CC is cubic centimetre. This is a measure of volume-more precisely the piston diaplacement volume in the cylinder from two extreme positions of the piston: top dead centre and bottom position. It indicates power that an engine developes.

It's the size of the engine. Where the V8 in some Jaguars have 4 liter engines, a two wheeler's engine is smaller and they measure in cubic centimeters (or milli liters) instead of liters.
