Not sure what the first "star" you see is. The first heavenly body you see at night is venus, since it is the brightest object in the sky.

it depends on your eyes...

some peoples eyes are more sensitive to different lights, many men are color blind and might not see the same stars as other people..

if you use different kinds of specs you will see different stars, so i think it depends on your eyes....

you might see a star come up first, but with my eyes, i might never see it, but i can see a diff one...

and also it depends on the time of year, cuz we see different stars on different nights cuz the earths direction changes and we look in different directions...

they say dogs are colorblind but they see better than us, there is no telling what stars they can see, but obviously different than what we see.

Sirius or Vega depending on the time of year.

Venus, if you call it a star, and it's in the right place. Sirius if you don't count planets.

During the summer months it's quite often Vega, which is nearly straight overhead.

I believe it's Sirius. Could be wrong though.
