It will never happen. Never. Ever.

In fact, GM has spent the last 10+ years getting smaller, as they've spun off Hughes, Delphi, etc etc etc. They are still to large to manage, so why would they want to get larger by merging with Ford?

And, why would they merge with another company that has the same problems?

Toyota is on the verge of being #1. More chance of Toyata buying GM. If GM and Ford were to merge they would have to downsize right off the bat. They can't manage themselves properly now, just imagine if they merged. They are losing market share every day. They need to get their houses in order improve quality of their cars before a thought like this could be conceived. They would implode..

Most likely, you'd get plastic that would self-destruct after 12 months or 12,000 miles. Oh--that's just like it is now. Hypothetically speaking. Perhaps they should build soda bottles?
