What NFL team had the best defense ever? Titles do not mean anything.
I personally think the 70's Steelers are the best.

1976 Steelers. They had five straight shut outs & didn't win their third SB in a row since they lost their entire starting back field before the championship game vs the Raiders. No other "D" has ever been that dominant.

Its between the 85 Bears, with freakin Mike Singletary and a guy known simply as "the Fridge".... or the 2000 Ravens D. The Ravens are the defense to ever hold the offense overall rushing yards to under 1000 yards and lowest amounts of total points scored! I tell you, besides a high technologically advanced home security system, I'd rather have the 1985 bears and 2000 Ravens linebackers walk around my house all night. I'd sleep pretty freakin' good.

The Chicago Bears 1985 defence was mean, but the Baltimore Ravens 2001 was probably better, and won the superbowl for them despite their offense being shocking.

Absolutely, all time best are the 1970's Steel Curtain. I don't think that is disputable.
Single Season? Maybe the '85 Bears.
