Honestly, my mom. She is so beautiful. She takes care of her family. Always did everything for us. Still happily married to my dad. She has always been a better friend to me than any of my friends. Always kept our home beautiful and cooked delicious meals for us. And has done all of this even when she was tired, (she has heart disease.) But even with this she would never sit down and rest. She has a drive in her I've never seen in anyone one else. Even when she was very ill, there was nothing we could do to keep her down. Even now, she is always up doing something! I admire that about her! She never lets her health get her down. I am so proud to have her as my mother, and there is no one else I would rather be like!

My role model would be a one legged runner who died of cancer through his run across Canada. His name was Terry Fox and he was both an inspiration and a marvelous power of example to everyone. He wanted to help others, especially children who were stricken with cancer and hoped to raise $1 from each Canadian through his run. While he was in the hospital there was a national broadcast to raise money in his honour. He was able to reach his goal. Today, 25 years after his death, there is a yearly run in his honour and his spirit continues to raise money. He did not feel sorry for himself an was quite unselfish in his goals. Being physically challenged myself I have to admit that there were times when I would feel sorry for myself. However, seeing this young man attempt to do what he did was truly an eye opener and that is my reason for choosing Terry as a positive role model.
