With the option of killing each other, to resolve differences, taken out of the equation, maybe and only maybe we modify our convictions and find intelligent answers.

No time like the present is there, global disarming can be started from this moment in time, the longer its left the less likely it is to happen, all it takes is one voice louder than the others to demand it starts today and were on our way.

If we could find ways to answer your sub-questions, the date I would set would be yesterday.

However, it's the implementation, the practicalities that pose the real problem.

My experience as a mediator in low-level disputes, (neighbours, intra-family,) informs me that the most important prerequisite to resolving any conflict is the will will to find resolution.

I am no cynic when it comes to the negotiated settlement. I believe in it more, probably, than in anything else. Neither am I a naturally negative person by nature. I have experienced people using their imaginative and creative powers work tiny miracles in apparently intractable disputes, simply because they were willing to try so hard to make positive changes. But on a global scale, given all the factors of power imbalance, prejudice, suspicion, historical entrenchment and the interventions of the media, I have some serious reservations about the feasibility of global disarming. At least in the foreseeable future.

How about: Global leaders exchange their children with one another—for example, US and China, Israel and Palestine—so that if anyone started to act aggressively, it would put his own children in danger. I believe this was tried in the middle ages. Not only would it guarantee a modicum of thought before action, it might make leaders realize that these children are human beings just like themselves.

Now, not tomorrow or later. We have to stop the origin of this divisions, our anger brought by ignorance about life. Our free will (selfishness) that we cannot understand that we are all one, There is no division whatsoever, let's open our mind that what we do to other human beings will affects us directly or indirectly, All of us will suffer the consequences. We have to start it now each one of us now. We created this chaos, each and everyone of us, we are against each other psychologically and physically. This division is created by our mind and the spectacular presentation is the big war that is going on and on and on. Please try to understand this statement.

Global disarming is a pipe dream as there will always be someone out there with ideas of ruling the world.
it is a shame that human nature is such that the only defense we have is one of mutual destruction.

It will never be achieved. Human nature as it is dictates that get rid of one despot and another will invariably take his/her place. The strongest will always want to dominate the weaker. Sad I know.
