India is a land of colour and diverse cultures, so obvious in the varied dresses that adorn its people. Indian dressing styles are marked by many variations, both religious and regional with a wide choice of textures and styles. The most famous traditional dresses of India is lengha cholis, gharara. The traditional lengha choli in Rajasthan and Gujarat is very common. The choli is brightly embroidered, waist - length bare - backed blouses. Ghagras or lehengas are gathered ankle - length skirts secured around the waist. The attire is completed by a veil - cloth called odhni or dupatta draped across the neck or over the head.

gharara is a traditional pakistani dress, (its a kinda long frock, that goes all the way to the feet) usually worn by BRIDES.
wedding gharars are highly worked on, and can run in tens of thousands of dollars. A toned down version or plain gharara (without any work etc) are also avaialble and women used to wear them in years gone by, but that tradition has died out. and usually you would NOT see women walking in pakistan in a gharara. However, you would most likely see one worn by a beautiful paki lady on her wedding. There are many websites showcasing wedding gharars. I got one from google. here is one.

This url will take you to a site, where a woman notes that she's designed and sewn 3 ghararas. She offers her help.
Good luck to you!
