We don't hate confident, good guys. Confindent is actually your best plan of attack. From my perspective I want a man who is confindent, but not cocky, stable, that I can talk to and have a good time with. On the reality side of things I have a bad tendancy of choosing men that I think I can change or take care of, something about the challenge I guess. Seeing as I am aware of all this I'm making an effort to change it. But that took years. Don't try to be a jerk. But use your confidence and don't be too easy for her to win over. Its all a big game, sorry to say

Well to be honest I never go for the abusive jerks. My theory is that women "like" those abusive jerks because they're afraid of speaking up for themselves and if they do they'll get hit by the abusive boyfriend. Also because of their image they might think they're masucline and always will protect them. As for the confident types, some women might find them too cocky and self-absorbed.
And in your situation, I wouldn't try to become a bad boy jerk. I can tell you women will not want you for yourself, but for your image. And I can also tell you that women will fear you aswell.

You can buy yourself a leather coat, knock out a couple of front teeth, then do not take a bath for weeks at a time. Next get arrested and go to prison and be bubbas wife, get some tattos and when you get out, if youever get out you too can be a bad boy all the girls will want. OR you can stop looking in the wrong places for a girl and find the real women of your dreams in like minded interest in life that you have. Just let it happen man.

You have the totally wrong idea.
I definitely wouldn't want a low life cheating jerk for a boyfriend.
You need to be more confident, maybe your looking for girls in the wrong places.
Maybe girls find you intimidating because your a really nice guy, which means you should do the approaching.
I've been with my partner for 2 and a 1/2 years and he's not a jerk and he certainly hasn't cheated on me, if he did that would be it!!!
Trust me not all girls like jerks for boyfriends...

I don't know. But it sure is frustrating ain't it?? Why not resist changing your image to the bad boy type, while you try searching in different places. Whatever your current contact with the girls, try someplace new. Maybe visit the libraries more, or go to the gym more.
Centurian's reply also made me remember that a woman's motto is something like this, "Oh, I met the perfect man last night. And I can make him just right". So no matter how bad or how good you are, she will want to change you in some way.
Good Luck

No way abusive, unfaithful bad boys are not appealing...but the confident, healthy good guys are always top of my list.

I think it has to do with girls instinctively wanting a challenge, and feeling that guys are being pushovers when they submit to whatever the girl wants. I am not an expert on the issue, but ive been told that it is rooted deeply within our genetic code.

1. Don't become a bad boy... people should love you for who you are, and it sounds like you've got the right idea with things :-)
2. Not all girls go for bad boys... and none of them really like being treated badly... they just havent found a decent guy yet!

It all depends on the girl. Not all of them want somebody like that. Don't change yourself just to fit in with the crowd.
