How would I convert curencies using a calculator? eg If someone handed me a 20 euro note and was buying something for £8.50 in english money how much change would I give them in english money? How would I work that out? Be grateful to anyone who can help. Thankyou

Currency exchange rates fluctuate from day to day and even from hour to hour. No Set formula could accurately calculate an exchange.

There are various web sites that store the last posted exchange rates, and will custom calculate the exchange for any dollar amount you specify.

Divide the 20 euros by the current selling rate (say) 1.40 which would be £14.28 then take it from there.

well, I would keep it simple, divide the euro by 2 ( in your case £10 equivalent) and give them £1.50. Who's going to notice the difference. If you can't, they won't, and they do, then let them do the job.

currency changes practically every second so its impossible to keep an accurate account on a calculator.

£8.50 multiply by the Euro rate i.e. £8.50 x euros 1.46 =12.41 euros
