BAD - BAD - BAD !

Scotland is incapable of sustaining an economy which would allow self sufficiency.

The SNP haven't a clue - they keep going back to "Scotland's Oil" thinking that it will pay for everything !!

**Remember that only 47% of the 25% who voted wanted devolution !!

A great move for the English. A terrible deal for the Scottish people. Scotland would descend into a debt ridden socialist republic. They would lose the huge subsidies they get from the English, They would have to pay for their own education and their own poor. People in Scotland would have to sell their properties to fund elderly care.

If they want independence, it should be FULL independence, IE they would NOT be allowed instant membership of the EU, (so they could suck even greater subsidies out of everyone else)

I love Scotland and hope that Scotland remains part of the Union of The United Kingdom.

I think it will be good due to the differing demographic of scotland compared England. We have different needs and wants. Its nothing to do the English as a nation, its just that I believe localised governing structures are always going to be more accessible, accountable and responsive to the needs of a geographic area than a remote one. Scotland should be able to have its own stance on foreign policy, and the nuclear warheads we store in the clyde. Plus there is a strong working class, anti capitalist, anti war, anti nuclear, anti monarchist left force in scotland. M'oan the scottish socialist republic!

I think Scotland should become independent. They might as well be anyway. Have you ever tried to spend a Scottish £5 down south - not an easy task I can tell you. And don't even start me on Scottish £1 notes!

A lot of people talk about the oil money but Scotland would also have massive amounts of money generated from the whisky exports.

human beings could nonetheless call themselves British, because of the fact they're on the British Isles - the Spain/Portugal assessment is unquestionably irrelevant, because of the fact there is not any historic use of the be conscious Iberian, in assessment to interior the united kingdom. that's confusing to appreciate what the call could be - they might purely call it the united kingdom, and drop the 'of super Britain and eire' bit. that would be the main difficulty-unfastened answer. in spite of each and every thing, Sudan did no longer exchange its call whilst South Sudan grew to become self reliant (the main recent occasion of a rustic fragmenting).

I am English, but entirely understand why many Scots feel that way. If I lived in Scotland I would be supporting them.

It would be good for England, we would rid ourselves of a mill stone around our necks. If you think the Scots would do well, take a look at Africa since the countries that were part of the Empire went independent. We don't want a third world country on our doorstep thankyou.
